The Dogwood Lace Guild is dedicated to preserving and sharing the methods of hand-made lace in all forms. The guild has members who can demonstrate and teach lace made by bobbin, needle, tatting, knitting, and crochet. Their motto is “Lacing, learning, and laughing.” The group meets from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the first Saturday of the month in the Shiloh Meeting Hall building. Bella Vista Radio Club
The Bella Vista Radio Club promotes and educates the local community about amateur radio, and promotes diverse activities within the amateur radio community. Some of the group’s various missions include encouraging new operators, providing help in obtaining licenses and acquiring equipment, maintaining an active local amateur radio club and repeater system, and training local operators for emergency and non-emergency events. The group meets from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the second Saturday of the month in the General Store building on the Shiloh Museum grounds. National Railway Historical Society: Boston Mountain Chapter
The mission of the National Railway Historical Society, Boston Mountain Chapter, is to preserve rail heritage and to educate current and future generations about railroads and their history. The National Railway Historical Society supports train, railway, and station preservation projects with hundreds of thousands of dollars awarded in Heritage Grants, as well as education, photographic archives, events, publishing, standards definition and shared resources.
