Homeschool Days: Winter in the Ozarks

The Shiloh Museum would like to reach out to individual and small groups of homeschooling families to provide days during the year for you to participate in our free, educational programs, even if you do not belong to a larger group.
This program is intended for grades K-4th, but all are welcome.
In this field trip, students learn how people experienced winter in the Ozarks through the eras before modern times. They can stay warm inside the museum’s 1854 log cabin and see a Dutch oven cooking demonstration. Students also explore museum collections, such as our 19th-century magic lantern projector and hand-painted slides depicting winter scenes of the past. Finally, they take a “journey” through time in the museum’s exhibit hall.
Registration is required. For groups larger than 10, please consider signing up for a field trip on our School Programs page.
