  • We’re getting closer to 🏈 football season, which also means 🎵🎺🥁 marching bands! Here’s a 📷 photo from April 1974 of the Springdale High School band that was taken in Springdale. Does anyone recognize the people, the occasion, and precise location? It would really make our day!

🌞 Have a safe weekend!

  • 🌟 Join us Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 6:30 p.m. for a mouthwatering Not Strictly History night with James Beard Award winner Adrian Miller, the @soulfoodscholar! Learn how African Americans shaped barbecue culture through its history, styles, and future while sampling local barbecue. 🍖

📚 Miller’s books about cuisine include Black Smoke and Soul Food: The Surprising Story of an American Cuisine, One Plate at a Time. He is a certified barbecue judge and former White House special assistant to President Bill Clinton.

  • ⌨️ Have you texted your cousin? It’s #NationalCousinsDay 🧑‍🤝‍🧑👫, when we celebrate our relationships with our grandparents' (and sometimes their parents', and even their parents'!) offspring. For many, cousins are almost like “bonus” siblings. They come from the same stock and get us!

This photo of cousins, taken in the Boston Community in Madison County, feature, from left, Austin Eaton holding Janice Bennett, unknown, Sue Eaton Young, Fern Bennett Thornberry and, in front, possibly Calvin Dale Bennett. (We always welcome help in our identifications!)
