Brooks Blevins will sign and read from his book, Up South in the Ozarks: DispatchesBook with a beige cover. The upper half has the words, in maroon capital letters, that read “Up South in the Ozarks.” Beneath it are the words, in orange cursive lettering, “Dispatches from the Margins.” Below it, in all capital letters in light avocado coloring, “Brooks Blevins.” from the Margins, at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 3, at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.

Up South in the Ozarks is a collection of essays written by Blevins that focuses on the people on the region’s margins, from migrant workers to shape-note gospel singers to fireworks peddlers. Blevins is the Noel Boyd Professor of Ozarks Studies at Missouri State University and has written several books about the Ozarks, including the three-volume, A History of the Ozarks.
