Online Collections Access

Use our new online collections database to explore more than 600,000 items that make up the Shiloh Museum’s artifact, photo, and manuscript collection! Our collections document the history of the Arkansas Ozarks in Benton, Boone, Carroll, Madison, Newton, and Washington counties. You will be leaving the Shiloh site when you access the database.

Some photographs and items have been digitized or photographed, and the photos may be in the item entry. Many of our items contain only text descriptions. We invite researchers to view our Collections Access Policy and contact our collections office to access items on site. We strongly encourage researchers to contact us before coming on site so we can ensure you have a meaningful experience, and we can be sure the appropriate staff are here to help you. Contact Stephanie Carter, Curator, for collections (artifacts, photographs, and archives) access. Contact Rachel Whitaker, Historian, for specific research requests.

Please note: Users may encounter offensive or harmful language or images in our catalog records and collection materials. We do not alter or censor the contents of collections, as they provide evidence of a time, people, place, or event in the past. We do strive to provide historical context whenever possible and are committed to the use of inclusive, anti-racist, non-derogatory language in our description of collections. We recognize our responsibility to describe and interpret our collections respectfully and carefully and are committed to a process of constant reflection and improvement. We continue to add records and refine data in existing records on a regular basis.

Users will not find many of the Native American items in our collections in these public records. In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) of 1990 and 2024, we are not making artifacts or certain photos publicly available. Please contact the museum for questions about these artifacts and their care.
