Educators are invited to learn about the fascinating history of textiles and how to incorporate the Shiloh Museum’s educational resources into your classroom. Learn about fiber processing and textile creation through hands-on experiences at the Shiloh Museum’s Tracing the Threads: Weaving in the Arkansas Ozarks exhibit. Participate in weaving loom and spinning wheel demonstrations, try carding fibers with fiber combs, and explore the museum’s exhibit hall, showcasing artifacts from prehistoric Ozarks to today. Attendees will also tour the museum’s historic grounds and identify native plants used for fibers by Native Americans. This workshop complements the annual Fibers to Fabric event for local students.

Registration is required for this free workshop.  All educators are welcome. Up to three hours of development credit provided by the Northwest Arkansas Education Service Cooperative will be available for attending this workshop.
